Anthropic Messages compatibility

Use the model ID your Anthropic account already supports.

Promptflint accepts an Anthropic Messages request, compresses eligible prompt content, and forwards the request to the configured Anthropic /v1/messages endpoint. Model access remains an upstream concern.

One named model ID

Exercised by Promptflint's Anthropic proxy examples and implementation tests.

This is a compatibility signal, not a promise that every Anthropic account can use this model.

Non-empty model IDs

The Messages contract requires model to be a non-empty string. Promptflint does not maintain a separate model allowlist.

Forwarded as requested

The accepted request, including its model ID, is sent through the Anthropic Messages API at the configured provider base URL.

Provider decides access

Anthropic returns the final answer or provider error. Promptflint cannot add model entitlements, remove regional limits, or raise provider rate limits.

The important distinction

Protocol support is not model access.

Promptflint's compatibility means your client can use the Anthropic Messages request shape and a non-empty model ID at the proxy boundary. It does not mean that Promptflint has verified, purchased, or granted access to every model name.

Before you send a request

  • Use a valid Promptflint API key.
  • Ensure a valid Anthropic provider key is configured.
  • Confirm your Anthropic account has access to the requested model in your region.

Need to confirm a different model? Check its availability with Anthropic first; a successful Promptflint request still depends on the provider response.
